Mobil first began selling lubricants in New Zealand way back in 1896, and over the next century they built up a wide distributor network.
Leaping forward to 2006, this network had been consolidated into a handful of selected businesses - so as to enable Mobil to better coordinate its marketing efforts.
Then in 2009 Kauriland Lubricants and Allied Petroleum were appointed Mobil Lubricant’s two ‘Authorised Distributors’ in New Zealand. A year later Allied Petroleum purchased Kauriland’s interests in commercial fuels and lubricants, and Allied Lubricants was born, servcing the whole of New Zealand.
In 2010 Mobil Oil ceased direct marketing of lubricants throughout Australasia, and Allied Lubricants assumed all importation, distribution, sales and customer support. Ultimately Mobil’s belief was that its customers were better served by a flexible local business, backed by a world class product range.
Allied Lubricants has continued to grow, and now consists of 25 great employees. Our management team is based in Christchurch, with a customer services and logistics teams working out of our Auckland offices. We have two major distribution hubs in both the North and South Island, and then a national carrier and channel partners in order to make product quickly available to our customers.
In 2014, and then again 2015, Allied Lubricants was awarded Mobil’s ‘Circle of Excellence’ award for excellence in business performance - ahead of many distributors within the Asia Pacific Region.
Allied Lubricants is proud to be your partner with performance.
